Electrical Installation Condition Reports

Electrical Installation Condition ReportsEvery electrical installation will deteriorate with useage and age. Therefore it is important that the person responsible for the maintenance of the installation ensures that the safety of users is not put at risk, and that the installation continues to be in a safe and serviceable condition.

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) will provide you with a report on the condition of your existing installation.

The report will indicate any departures from BS 7671:2008 (as amended), and make any recommendations that may be necessary to bring it up to the standards required by current legislation.

Following the inspection will, if requested, provide a quotation for any repairs that may be necessary.

electrical testing inspectionsIt is worth highlighting that this is a requirement of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and increasingly, insurance companies are insisting that EICR’s are carried out as a condition, before they will insure buildings and stock.

Depending on the type of premises the period or timescale between inspections differ. These inspections must be carried out by qualified electrical engineers.
